Fumitaka [Fumi] Matsubara brings more than 20 years of M&A, Private Equity and Asset Management experience to his position as Deputy Chief Operating Officer of Diamond Realty Investments, Inc. As Deputy COO, he leads and directs the organization’s U.S. operations and overall strategy for future growth from the firm’s headquarters in Dallas, TX.

Prior to Diamond Realty Investments, Fumitaka was Chief Executive Officer of Marunouchi Infrastructure Inc., responsible for supervising and managing the entire company. Marunouchi Infrastructure Inc. is a 100% owned sub-subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation and is a Private Equity fund management company investing in the infrastructure assets located in Japan. He also worked as Deputy General Manager leading M&A in the Aviation Business Department of Mitsubishi Corporation. Prior to that, he worked as Senior Manager of the Merchant Banking Department of Mitsubishi Corporation, where he led M&As and was responsible for investments, strategic planning, and business development of several subsidiaries managing buyout or growth capital funds in Japan and ASEAN countries.

Fumitaka gained vital U.S. asset management experience working at a Private Equity advisory firm jointly established by Mitsubishi Corporation and local partners in the U.S. As Vice President, he was responsible for managing the development of business plans and operating due diligence for Private Equity funds. In addition, Fumitaka also worked at an asset management firm in U.S. jointly established by Mitsubishi Corporation and local partners in the U.S. As Director, he was responsible for managing the finance, accounting and tax Department.

Fumitaka received a B.A. of Physics from Sophia University in Japan.
